Fairfax Little League Capital Campaign

WHAT IS THE CAPITAL CAMPAIGN?

Fairfax Little League is embarking upon a Capital Campaign to repair and update fields to ensure player safety and make field improvements to maximize field availability and player use.  It will also help to create a reserve fund for future improvements.   We hope to add lights, move and repair fences, add scoreboards, and add irrigation.

WHY IS THE CAPITAL CAMPAIGN NECESSARY?

Currently, registration fees cover only an annual budget for basic field maintenance.  As our player numbers increase and we wish to make more significant improvements, we need to grow this budget.  FxLL has not had a Capital Campaign in recent memory, but the time has come to make major improvements for safety and better play.

WHERE WILL THE FUNDS COME FROM?

FxLL will work with Fairfax City and Fairfax County to take advantage of matching funds; review our current budget to determine where we can manage costs; create additional funding opportunities for sponsors; and we will be asking our families for contributions.

HOW WILL FXLL PRIORITIZE ITS TASKS?

The Board is in the process of developing a work plan and timetable for field conversion and improvements. It will prioritize its tasks based on available funds and resources, safety recommendations and field conditions.  To date, we have devoted $24,000 to convert Burke, Bonnie Brae 90' and Providence #4 to dual-use fields to accommodate both Majors and below 60' games and the new Intermediate (50/70) games on the same fields.

HOW WILL WE KNOW HOW THE CAMPAIGN IS PROGRESSING?

FxLL will send regular updates via e-mail and post progress regarding the Capital Campaign on this web page. Please check back to this web page for updates and follow FxLL on social media on our Facebook page and on Twitter @FXLL.

WHERE CAN I SEND MY SUGGESTIONS FOR FIELD UPDATES?

FxLL regularly assesses its fields for areas of improvements, but if you have a specific concern regarding a field or League building, please send your feedback to
